One year ago, Small Hearts was released to the public. After two years of prepping and writing, pushing my vampire series aside that perturbed a few fans, it was finally out in the open.

I was scared. It is the most demanding thing I have ever done. Not with telling a story, but the emotional drain it had on me creating a paranormal book based in the reality at the time of school shootings. We remember the name of the perpetrator, but not the victims. We remember the victims as a group but never wonder about those that witnessed it. The teachers that we trust to protect our children felt helpless in the aftermath. What does that do to a person? What happens when guilt and anxiety take over, wondering if there was anything different that could have been done.
"Small Hearts is a paranormal story with a social conscious." That is the best way a reviewer described it in one sentence. Since it released it has garnered great reviews and even won the Silver Medal for Horror through Reader's Favorite in which I will go to Miami to hobnob with other authors and producers of film. With every mediocre review there are five to seven great reviews! Even these past couple of weeks I have begun selling just as many UK editions as US! So, the word is spreading, and I hope it continues to do so!
I don't know if I'll write anything else in my life this socially relevant again, but if I don't, that's okay. I thank those who gave it a shot and read it! If you have read it, please review it on Amazon or Goodreads.
If anyone wants a signed edition, let me know because I have a few left right now.
